乐队介绍：
System of A Down从组建开始就是这样一个另类。作为和Korn, Deftones, Limp Bizkit等nu-metal一批的乐队，SOAD从一开始就走出了不一样的一步。主唱Serj Tankian嘹亮而神经质的唱腔，Daron Malakian用旋律奇特而灵动的riff把SOAD和其他只会drop-D的乐队分离开来，而Shavo Odadjian和John Dolmayan组成的节奏部分则为Serj和Daron的疯狂提供了足够支持。绝大多数歌迷们认识SOAD恐怕是从他们的第二张専辑Toxicity开始的，两个美国小伙自拍的Chop Suey!MV想必大家都还记忆犹新。而我第一次接触到SOAD却是从一张叫做Native in Black的Black Sabbath致敬専辑。在那一套Native in Black里面似乎也只有Type O Negative和SOAD成功的把自己的特点和Sabbath的歌曲完美的融合在了一起。



乐队发展：
在Toxicity之后，SOAD用了四年的时间来酝酿他们的野心：一套双张専辑。摇滚乐史上曾进出现过不少经典的双张専辑，而凡是成功写出了一套双张専辑的乐队到后来都成为了宗师级的乐队：The Beatles有过The White Album, Guns N’ Roses有Use Your Illusion I&II, The Smashing Pumpkins有Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness。当然制作双张専辑并不是没有风险，MetallicA的Load和Reload就并没有能够达到和他们以前専辑一样的高度。而令人庆幸的是SOAD并没有重捣MetallicA的覆辙，Mezmerize和Hypnotize不光两度征服了billboard，更是两度征服了所有的舆论！Guiatworld杂志的编辑们把这套专辑称为2005年绝对不容错过的専辑之一，这次SOAD无论从音乐，歌词，还是整张専辑的概念方面都达到了一个难以启及的高度。
